Home-loan disbursements have picked up as interest rates are under check. RBI is also taking steps to bring in the revival in the real estate sector. RBI has already stated that the current customers should be offered an alternative between continuing with their old home loan rates or move to new rates decided by the base rate system. This will help the old home loan borrower to negotiate for lower interest rates now that the base rate has kicked in from 1st July 2010. However, it is too early to determine the percentage of existing home loan borrowers who might opt of this. As per ICICI Bank, interest liability of existing home loan borrowers will not be impacted unless they voluntarily shift to the new system.

For the first time since October, BlackRock Inc.’s emerging-markets exchange traded fund(ETF) saw than its rival offering from The Vanguard Group Inc. last month.
BlackRock Inc.’s iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index Fund (NYSEArca: ) had net inflows of $1.7 billion in June, compared with $787.7 million for Vanguard’s Emerging Markets ETF (NYSEArca: ). These ETFs are in a closely-watched rivalry because they’re the two broad-based funds that track the MSCI Emerging Markets Index.

According to the press release “Vehicle Monitoring Systems Raise Serious Privacy Concerns” found on MarketWatch.com, a lawsuit filed by Progressive Insurance, accuses the Massachusetts based Liberty Mutual Group, Inc, of infringing on Progressive’s patent which was received in 2000 for a car monitoring system that obtains data such as location, mileage and speed from a customer’s automobile.
This type of system has caused a lot of buzz over the past few years while some believe it’s intrusive and causes privacy concerns.
